Glazed Lemon Sugar Cookies RECIPES


Ingredients
For the Cookies

  • 1/2 cup butter , softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 1 Tablespoon lemon zest
  • 1 Tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/8 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar for rolling

For the Glaze

  • 1 + 1/2 tablespoons water
  • 3/4 cup - 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions
For the Lemon Cookie Dough

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Beat in vanilla, egg, lemon zest, and lemon juice.
  2. Slowly add flour, baking powder, soda, and salt. Stir well to combine.
  3. Use a cookie scoop or roll dough into 1 inch balls, then roll in powdered sugar. Place on lightly greased baking sheets.
  4. Bake at 350° for 9-11 minutes, or till set and crackly. After a couple minutes, remove to cooling racks to cool completely.

For the Glaze - Slowly add powdered sugar to water until a thick consistency forms. Drizzle over cookies
